Signs Beneath the Moon: A Night to Remember (Fire Alarms Included!)

If you ever wondered whether our paint parties are fire, let me assure you—they absolutely are. How do I know? Because not even 30 minutes into our Signs Beneath the Moon event, the fire alarm decided to join the party.

Now, before anyone panics: No, our painters weren’t actually burning down the house. Yes, they were on fire—but only in the “wow, look at that brushwork!” kind of way.

Once the alarm stopped screaming its dramatic solo, we got right back to creating our moonlit masterpieces. Well… you all did. I, on the other hand, got pulled away to deal with some facility issues because apparently the universe wanted to test my multitasking skills that night.

But here’s where the magic happened.

While I was off putting out metaphorical fires, my left-handed wonder, Miss Taylor Magoo, stepped up like she’d been preparing for this moment her whole life. Never mind that she hadn’t practiced the painting—she guided the group like a seasoned pro. Calm, confident, and absolutely in her element. Watching her shine (from a distance, while juggling chaos) made me one proud mama.

And the best part? Every single painting turned out beautifully. Like… frame-it-and-hang-it beautifully.

To everyone who joined us: thank you for continuing to believe in what my daughter and I do. Thank you for welcoming us into your world of fun, laughter, and the occasional unexpected fire alarm. Nights like this remind me why we love hosting these events—because no matter what happens, this community shows up with joy, humour, and heart.

I can’t wait to see you all back on the canvas in a couple of weeks. Let’s hope the only thing “on fire” next time is your creativity.
